I lose to the "Dinner" alot...

I saw a IG reel where John Mayer was talking about the "dinner" that destroys creativity. The basic idea behind this is that we will be in the middle of creating and stop to go "make the dinner". To emphasize I think what he's saying is that stopping the process to go eat because that's what you had planned or you hungry. It's not about making the plans on time, or because you are hungry, I would say it moves you out of the creative flow that can not just effect you but also effect your environment. Change the mood even. I've definitely been a victim of chasing the "dinner".

Definitely do as you please, but understand creativity has spurts, sometimes streams and sometimes nothing. Getting that back isn't always the easiest thing to do.

The "Dinner" can show up and many different forms:

-Snacking

-Scrolling

-Texting

-People

-Etc.

I would like to encourage you to fight against these things taking you away from your focus. I feel like it's imperative to stay locked in. Breaks are cool but sometimes they lead us down a road of more distraction. On this road to getting what we want we have to shed what we don't. -P
